The Gardener offers a wedding and events registry program. 
Please contact us at berkeley@thegardener.com to set up a registry appointment.

All orders are processed within 5 business days for in-stock items, and are shipped out Monday through Friday. Once your order has shipped, a confirmation email with tracking information is sent to the email address provided at checkout.

The Gardener offers USPS Ground Advantage, USPS Priority Mail, and USPS Priority Mail Express services.

For items requiring White Glove Shipping, we will reach out prior to shipping with a quote from a qualified shipper.

“Package Delivered” but you have yet to see it?
Please be aware that a neighbor or building manager could receive your package and be holding it for you. Your tracking confirmation will register the package as received. We have found that "missing" packages usually show up within 48 hours. If your package has not turned up, please contact your local post office or UPS as we are not responsible for lost, misplaced or stolen packages.

To complete your return of an online purchase, we require a receipt or proof of purchase included with your return item.

Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.

You are responsible for the return shipping costs which are non-refundable. Please consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. Unfortunately we cannot be responsible for items that are lost in shipping.

Please note we do not offer refunds on in-store purchases but are happy to issue credit.

Online purchases can be returned to our store. by followig the steps below: 

1. Confirm your return is within the 30-day window from your purchase date.

2. Store credit can be issued in our Berkeley store at time of return.  If you prefer a refund to the original payment, please return the items with purchase receipt. If you do not have a receipt, we can help retrieve that from out end.

3.  Credit card refunds will show up in approximately 7 days after you receive the return confirmation email from the warehouse.

We accept returns & exchanges within 30 days from original purchase date. If your return is outside that window, we unfortunately cannot offer a refund or exchange.

Items returned must not have been worn, altered, used, washed, or damaged and should include the original packaging. Bath products, personal care products, gift cards, and discounted sale items cannot be returned.

We will notify you by email once your return has been received and inspected. If you item is approved for return, a credit will be automatically applied to your original form of payment within 7-10 business days of our confirmation email.

Please note your refund will not include the original shipping cost.

In the instance of defect or damage, submit your exchange request, your reason for exchange, name, and phone number to store@thegardener.com. One we receive your request, we will outline the steps for exchanging your defective or damaged item.


The Gardener only collects information on our customers for the sole purpose of order tracking, record keeping of orders placed online, customer service, notification of any changes to our services, and as needed or required by law. This information is limited to customer name, address, email, telephone number, and IP addresses. At no time does The Gardener retain sensitive information such as credit card numbers.

The Gardener will only contact you by phone in the event of an issue with an online order placed on thegardener.com.

At time of checkout, you have the option of joining The Gardener mailing list. The Gardener may occasionally send you email regarding new product lines and store information. You have the option to opt out of these emails at any time by following the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email. Please email us at store@thegardener.com should you need assistance.

You may close your account with The Gardener at any time, in which case we will permanently delete your account and all data associated with it.

The Gardener respects your right to privacy. The Gardener does not sell or share any personal information entered or collected while using our site.

At no time does The Gardener collect information on specific customer browsing habits. The Gardener does record your IP address at the time of checkout to aid in the prevention and tracking of credit card fraud. thegardener.com does not set cookies, rather we set session variables. Session variables are designed to specifically keep track of your shopping and favored items for wish lists. All orders submitted to The Gardener are encrypted with 256 bit SSL security to ensure your transactions are processed safely.

The Gardener uses Google Analytics to assess traffic on our site. Google’s privacy policy can be read here.

We do not intend to collect or knowingly collect information on children. We do not target children with our services.

If we believe information has been compromised or breached in any way, we will notify the appropriate authorities and any person or persons thought to be affected.

Taxes

Sales tax is charged on orders shipping within California at the local tax rate.

The Gardener does not guarantee the availability of any items listed on thegardener.com. If the item selected for purchase is not available, The Gardener will make every effort to contact the customer to notify them of the cancellation.

Please note that upon placing an order, a receipt is automatically mailed confirming the purchase intent. This receipt does not constitute a contract, and orders may be canceled at any time due to insufficient stock, inability to authorize a credit card, suspicion of fraudulent intent, discovery of an incorrect item price, or any other reason, as we see fit. Please further note that The Gardener shall have the right to refuse or cancel any such order whether or not your credit card has been charged. If your credit card has already been charged and your order is canceled, The Gardener shall issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the purchase.
